Acacia Wood Know
At first most of the acacia tree is used for the consumption of paper mills. There are many special forest to paper mill so that the trees were 3-5 years old (15-20cm diameter) can be cut down. In the last 10 years the popularity of acacia wood as raw material for furniture making needs growing acacia trees with ages above 5 years of increasingly high.
Tree Tree height can reach 30 feet in diameter up to 1 meter. The average diameter of which can be used to make furniture 25cm minimum to get a good yield. Acacia mangium takes 5-7 years to reach a diameter of 30cm.
Color Wood Wood patio until light brown in color from greenish brown. Wood sapwood (sapwood) creamy white, very clear and easily distinguishable with wood paneling.
Density At 12% MC level density around 450-600 kg/m3. certain types of parts and can reach up to 800 kg/m3.
Preservation Acacia wood, including the durable class 3, is quite resistant to weather and normal conditions but would be easily attacked by fungi and insects when placed in outdoor conditions are too wet. Less good for usage directly placed on the ground.
Drying Take a long time on drying of between 45-60 days, especially for wood thicknesses above 2.5 cm. Thin wood can be done no more than 30 days. Shrinkage properties of wood Akasi also quite large, easily bent, especially when laying in the Dry Kiln (conventional) is not quite right.
Process Engineering & Construction Easy at the time of the machine process and the results quite smooth and baik.Daya terhdapa binding screws and nails are also very good. But be careful on the small thickness because Akasi including fragile. Glue penetration into the wood is also very good.
Acacia wood best used for flooring products, decking, patio furniture (semi outdoor) and interior decoration.
