Creating a Floating Chairs For Elderly

The researchers at Kobe Gakuin University in Japan are developing a seat that hovers over the small air bearing. Floating chair is being developed for the elderly inJapan by Tsunesuke Furuta and his friends at university rehabilitation department.

Prototype, inspired by arcade hockey water, appears to consist of an air compressor that shoots bursts udarayang out of the many open pit beneath the surface of the chair is a stylish sports car style.

Seats can be exchanged with zabuton, a Japanese floor cushion. When kneeling on it, users can move by dragging themselves on the floor with their hands.

As quoted megindo.net from news.cnet.com. The seat can turn around and play with ease, perhaps with less effort than a wheelchair. Apparently, the chair can float with a weight up to 330 pounds.

This futuristic chair was shown at the beginning of this month at a robot exhibitionheld at Osaka City Hall, which had also been showing off a robot that can sing andbreathe fire. Robot Laboratory, the promotions robot Osaka, organized the event.

The exhibition, featuring an old man who pushed a chair like floating on the floor. It seems that the chair does not work well on carpet and tatami mats.

Unfortunately, the chair can only move horizontally, not vertically. The researchersare currently seeking business partners to develop this chair.
